So, we roll, and we move, the
wind and the water erode our edges, perhaps other pebbles do too. We
keep rolling, our journey to the sea is long. Rocks and pebbles have this
particular way to move and to become smother. They sometimes reach the ocean with
a rounded smooth surface, but sometimes they also reach the ocean harsh and rough.
Today I am writing about my willingness to try even when I
feel afraid or not incline to do what is placed in my path. I think about what
process goes in my mind, where is the fear hidden, or where the lack of desire
to simply try. Sometimes we stop just short from taking that one last step. Our
stamina perhaps is tested. Our courage, or our will to simply be what we are to
be in spite our true desires. Like the pebbles that will reach the sea in sandy
beaches, we all are rolling down our individual paths, hitting each other or
perhaps only grazing each other in our way to our destination.
It seems to me that many times we have no way to know when is
that we will collide with each other, but is the willingness we must either,
roll together, or simply pass by, that will determine how much we may lose or
how much we may gain. It is funny to think that we most lose in order to gain,
but the truth is that we have to experience that loss to smooth our edges. It
is always a matter of finding that balance.
And balance is such a hard thing to accomplish. I keep
thinking of that phrase I recently read that life is a balance between rest and
movement. So like pebbles on their way to the ocean, we rest, and we move, we
lose some roughness and in that way, we gain smoothness. We keep finding new
balance and willingness to keep going.
I hope we will meet at the ocean!
